Following my posts on MODx TinyMCE Spellcheck and Enabling Firefox's Spellcheck in MODx TinyMCE Internet Explorer still doesn't want to play ball, but there is a solution.
The TinyMCE uses the browser's built in spellchecker and IE doesn't have one (even IE9!).
TinyMCE
Add the plugin to TinyMCE by going to Tools > Configuration > Interface & Features. Scroll down to TinyMCE Settings and in Custom Plugin add iespell to the end and in Custom Buttons add iespell to the end of Row 2.
Internet Explorer
The solution is to download an install ieSpell on the PCs of the IE users.
Restart IE and then open the page with the WYSIWYG. You'll see the spellchecker icon [ABC(tick)] icon. Click it. The user will get a warning - 'Allow' and it will work after that.
Added advantage ieSpell is now embedded in IE so it will work for all forms.
